Getting started with Keel
Install
- Install Keel from the Zoho Marketplace into your Zoho CRM organization.
- Open the Keel — Data Health tab from the CRM top navigation.
- On first open, Keel runs a scan of your Leads, Contacts and Accounts.
1. Read your data-health score
The dashboard shows an overall grade (A–F) and a score out of 100, built from four signals: completeness (are key fields filled?), validity (do emails/phones pass checks?), duplicates (how many duplicate records?) and freshness (how stale are records?). Below it, the “fix these first” list ranks the highest-impact issues.
2. Review & merge duplicates
Keel groups likely duplicates and shows a match-confidence for each group, with the most complete record marked as the master (★ keep). On a paid plan, click Merge to combine a group into the master; the other records are moved to the recycle bin so you can recover them if needed. Adjust how aggressive matching is with the duplicate-match threshold in Settings.
3. Validate & standardize a record
Open any Lead, Contact or Account and use the Keel — Verify & Enrich panel:
- Validation shows each email/phone with a status (valid / risky / invalid), a confidence score, and the reason — e.g. disposable domain, role account, likely typo with a suggested fix, or a fake number.
- Standardization proposes clean-ups (phone → E.164, name case, country names, tidy website) as before → after. On a paid plan, click Apply to write them back.
4. Configure Settings
- Duplicate-match threshold — higher = only near-certain duplicates; lower = catch more.
- Default country — used to parse phone numbers that don't include a “+” country code.
Plans
- Free — health scan and duplicate preview.
- Starter / Growth — merge, standardization writes, validation at scale, and (Growth) scheduled scans, workflow triggers and enrichment.
Privacy
Keel's core features run inside your Zoho CRM; we don't sell or share your records. See the Privacy Policy.
